Have you always wanted to get into Radio, but have no idea where to start? Has it been hard to get a straight answer from people in the industry that you've reached out to, or even a helping hand to get you started? The days of "start in promotions and work your way up" are far gone. Nowadays, the people doing the hiring want to hear from people who can jump right in and host their own show, or be added to an existing show.

That's where I come in.

I'll help you bring your authentic self to the mic, get your wheels turning about different segments that interest and excite you, teach you the ins-and-outs of the industry, go over how social media is important, and even help you craft your very own demo reel so you're ready to send it off and apply for jobs!

Meet the Coach

Hey, I'm Kelly "Izzy" Ferry! I've been in Radio for 15 years, and it has been nothing short of a wild journey. But that's the fun of Radio, right? I started in small markets, and worked my way to now hosting my own Morning Show in a Top 15 Market.

I got my start in college radio at WPGU 107.1 at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign when I was just looking for something fun to do on the weekends. Another student came in to the sandwich shop I worked at for lunch one day and told me about the Alternative Rock station on campus, and after much convincing from my roommate, I went in and tried out for an On-Air slot. Little did I know, that would change the entire trajectory of my life.

After college, I moved on to KISS FM in Springfield, IL doing Nights (M-F 7pm-Midnight) for my first paid Radio job. After about a year and a half, I realized Top 40 didn't make my heart sing, so I started looking for a new job.

That led me to Fresno, CA for 4 years where I co-hosted Mornings on Active Rock station 105.1 The Blaze. I also added Middays and local/new music show Host to my resume while I was there, among other titles behind the scenes.

My next move around the country landed me at Heritage Rock station KOMP 92.3 in Las Vegas where I spent 3 years on a 3-person morning show. You think Vegas is wild? Try working with 2 other co-hosts! That experience taught me so much about how to work with other people on a dynamic show, and how to make listeners feel really included.

All of that past experience has helped me land my dream Radio job! I currently host one of the top-rated Morning shows in Phoenix, AZ--"Izzy in the Morning" on ALT AZ 93.3. I have segments like "Blow My Mind", "Izzy's Sur-PRIZE", and "The Game Room" on my show every day, and give a platform to my listeners to share intimate stories about their lives. I've finally found where I "fit", but it was a long road of getting to know the industry, and myself, to get here.
